Scrap Tires: Environmental Impact
The problem of discarded tires has been with us since we started the automotive age. As more and more cars are produced and purchased the number of scrap tires increases. The environmental impact ranges from the aesthetic (ugly piles of tires stockpiled on a parcel of land) to the hazardous (potential for fire and toxic chemicals from smoke) to public health concerns (carelessly discarded tires are an excellent breeding ground for mosquitoes).
Whereas years ago, very few used tires were recycled, today over 80% of them are reused or recycled in some way. We are proud to be a part of the solution for this problem. Being able to find new uses and applications for scrap tires is one way for us to contribute to a cleaner environment.
